The United Kingdom (UK) Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) recently announced that they would continue to recognise the CE product marking for consumer products placed on the Great Britain market. The extension will allow businesses to continue to use the CE marking on certain goods until December 31st, 2024.
The UKCA marking is a new UK product marking implemented as a result of the UK leaving the European Union (EU). It came into effect on January 1st, 2021 and was due to replace the CE marking by January 1st, 2023. The new extension will allow businesses to have an additional two years to prepare for the UKCA marking and apply for the new product safety marking.
